Spell casting

In Five Nations an entities with spells or abilities, whose primary use is for those abilities, is called a caster units. Some of the caster units have no direct form of attack.

The spells or abilities require power. Spells provide excellent utility that can lead to economic and tactical advantages over the enemies. The management of the spells can be the difference between victory and defeat.


Spell categories by role[]

  • Support - Hull, Shield restoration spells. Armor, cooldown, weapon strength, speed, vision buffers. Negative effect removers (dispell), recall spells.
  • Offensive - Armor, cooldown, weapon strength, speed, vision de-buffers. Temporary unit, station deactivators.
  • Destructive - Spells which casts intense blasts, destructive effects on targeted units or areas.
  • Summons - Temporary entitiy creator spells.


Spell categories by target[]

  • Acting on someone else - Spells which can be cast to other vessels (both firendly or hostile). Caster entities can not cast this abilities to themselves.
  • Acting on its own - Spells can be cast on the caster entity. Usually the caster gain some advantage until it runs out of energy or the player cancels the status.
  • Acting on area - Spells can be cast in target areas.
